Does anyone know how to get this to work? Also, it demonstrates that the techblog is inaccurate as posted, as there is obviously some problem to get this to work.

Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. I too, have failed with "unexpected error" connecting a Windows 10 Pro machine with Windows Server Essentials R2 server. Is there a fix for this? I would like to let you know that your Windows question is more complex than what is typically answered in the Microsoft Answers forums.
It is better suited in the TechNet forums. I have sort of figured this out myself since no one at Microsoft bothered to address the issue. Once you do this everything works like before - no problem in my case. However, I notice that in some instances when you restart the computer, you have to do this all again, and at other times, it works by starting Automatically, like it is supposed to.
In my case I upgraded with the Windows Essentials Connector installed. Since it was previously installed, all the entries were there and the ones I have all start with Windows Server There about 8 entries that start with Windows Server listed under the services on my computers. Turned them all to automatic as I could not simply turn them on.
Still no luck. I get all the way to where I am asked who I am setting the computer up for. As soon as I select either myself or other people it crashes. Any suggestions would be great I a at my whits end. We have set up several systems and this is the first time I have experienced this problem.
Sorry to hear, I am not that familiar with the issue. I can only suggest start fresh and try again or at least make sure that you uninstall it if it shows up in your program files.
I know it is frustrating as I went through a similar type issue. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Windows Windows 10 Search Community member. I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :.
